The two runs were taken off the top of the unfiltered table, so the shot
only showed anything while the newest runs happened to be the ones the
`_results` dashboard reads. Another flow finishing a run since photographed
an empty grid — every tile "No curve was recorded", every stat blank. The
table is filtered to that dashboard's flow first.

The rate the media dtypes could carry was one frame every second or two: each
was a file on the data volume, an event on the socket, and a request back for
the bytes. This closes both halves of that, and they are one feature.
`save_artifact(..., volatile=True)` writes to a `VolatileStore` — the same
content-addressed store, in `/dev/shm`, bounded by size with the oldest falling
out (`ARTIFACT_VOLATILE_BYTES`, 48 MB under the container's raised `shm_size`).
Nothing sweeps it: a frame nobody kept is not worth walking the store to find.
`ArtifactStore.path` falls through to it, which is what lets a volatile frame be
an ordinary reference everywhere else — the dtype check, a panel's digest scope,
`load_artifact` in a node, and the widget's own fetch all work on one unchanged.
`adopt` copies one into the store when a run records it, so "returned media is
kept, emitted media is not" stays true.
The bytes then go down the flows websocket as a length-prefixed binary frame,
sent just ahead of the `message_value` naming them, so a tile has the frame when
it hears the value moved. Nothing is pushed unasked: a client names the messages
it is drawing (`{"type":"media","names":[…]}`), a panel's list is intersected
with the scope it already had, and only the newest frame per name in a batch is
sent — a client that fell behind is not handed frames it would draw over. The
tunnel relays text only, so a screen reached through a portal falls back to
fetching, which is why the rate table now has two rows.
Around the edges: the remote worker's fetch cache is bounded at last
(`FLUKSIO_ARTIFACT_CACHE_BYTES`), since content addressing means nothing in it
ever expires and a media stream fills it with chunks nothing asks for twice; a
port carrying an image draws the frame in the node panel rather than only
saying `image/png · frame.png · 1.79kB`; and an edge chip says that much instead
of a line of hash. The media screenshot stops waiting for `networkidle` — a
camera is a socket that never goes quiet, which is the point of it.

Runs: a run can now be deleted (DELETE /runs/{id}, cancelling a live one
first), exported as csv from the screen's own filters, and its flow label
opens the flow. Its "Parameters" panel became "Inputs" and lists every
input the flow declares, marking the ones that took the flow's own value
rather than the run's — the comparison table resolves the same defaults
instead of printing "unset".
Home reads brain, dashboards, health, flows: the mosaic is one full-width
scrolling strip, and the flows list and the flow-activity rollups merged
into a single left-joined table so a flow's state and its numbers sit on
one row.
Charts take a drag to narrow the x window and a double click or tap to
come back out. UplotChart holds the scale and passes resetScales:false
while a window is held, which is what the old comment said made this
impossible.

`resources` was reachable from the SDK and the API and nowhere else, and
`node_queued` was published to nothing at all — so a node waiting for a machine
looked exactly like a node that had hung, which is the failure the event was
added for.
The node panel gets a Resources section: a size by name, the numbers for a node
that wants its own, and how long it is expected to take. Picking a flavor drops
the numbers, because saying both is two answers and the engine refuses it.
A queued node draws a neutral dot rather than one of the three status colours —
it is not running, it did not go well, and it did not go wrong; it is idle with
a reason, which the tooltip gives.
And a Workers screen, which is the first UI for any of this: every machine the
engine can reach with what is free of each, what is attached, what a cluster
has been asked for, and the sizes, editable. `fluksio status` grew a line of
the same.
The demo's training node already preferred a GPU worker, which was exactly the
declaration that used to be dropped, so it now says how much of that machine it
takes as well.

A port may now declare `image`, `audio` or `video`. Each is the artifact
reference the engine already had, narrowed by the `media_type` on it, so a
speech recogniser declares what it eats rather than taking any bytes at all and
finding out. Bytes still never travel as a message and nothing on the wire
stops being JSON: a camera publishes one reference per frame, a microphone one
per chunk, and a reference may carry a `meta` dict nothing here interprets.
Streaming media is therefore an ordinary streaming port — with one change to
what that means. An emission used to journal an item with no payload, so
downstream read whatever was current when the item was claimed; a consumer
slower than its producer saw only the newest chunk and the ones between were
lost. That is right for a training curve and wrong for a second of speech, so
an emission now journals a `kind="emission"` item carrying its values, and the
executor hands them to the nodes reading that message instead of writing them
to state again. The value in state stays the latest, which is what everything
else reads, and the wave is filtered by what actually changed rather than
walking everything reachable. No queue serialization change — the existing
`outputs` field carries it.
Continuous media makes the store's missing GC a real problem, so this closes
it: `sweep_artifacts` runs hourly, keeps every digest a `run_artifact` row
records or a live message holds, spares anything written in the last hour, and
stands aside entirely while a run is in flight, since a node may store a
checkpoint long before it returns the reference to it. That also collects the
orphans a deleted flow has always left behind. `ARTIFACT_GC_INTERVAL_S=0` turns
it off.
Around the edges: `GET /artifacts/{digest}` serves the media type the caller
passes and answers ranged requests, so a browser plays a clip rather than
downloading it; `PUT` spools to disk instead of holding the whole body in
memory, as does `save_artifact` given a path; a Media widget draws whatever its
message points at, and a wall panel may fetch the bytes its own tiles are
showing and nothing else; and a connector gets `save_artifact`, for a device
whose readings are bytes.
What this cannot do is live video: a frame every second or two is a glance, and
the honest answer above that is the camera's own stream, which the widget takes
as a URL and the browser plays from source.

The canvas lays itself out: a layered graph, left to right on a desktop and
top to bottom on a phone, with room reserved for the value each edge carries.
Nodes cannot be dragged and `NodeDef.position` is gone from the document —
a graph nobody can arrange is one worth keeping small, which is what keeps
flows atomic. Endpoints join the same layout, so their lanes and the
localStorage that remembered where they were dragged go too.
Mobile, per the new Responsive section of DESIGN-GUIDELINES.md: the dock caps
its width and wraps instead of running off the screen, the dashboard stacks
into one column rather than shrinking a wall panel to a fifth of its size, and
Home stops widening its grid track past the viewport. A Playwright project at
a phone's width fails the build when a screen no longer fits.
Along the way: publish is the checkmark that was already there rather than a
button that appears and disappears, with discard beside it on both the flow
and the dashboard; the brain reveals a neuron's name on the first tap; and the
port sparklines get room to breathe.

networkidle now falls between Home's independent fetches, so make verify was
photographing the skeletons: no name, no Admin nav, "No flows yet" and zeroed
tiles on an instance with three flows.

One shell for both editors. Flows and dashboards each get a searchable
overview under the padded shell, their editors move to the full-bleed
canvas, and the floating chrome is shared: a title bar that only says
what you are looking at, and a bottom dock carrying everything else —
the flow bar's status, settings and Publish moved down there, the
add-flow button moved to the overview.
Dashboards gain the rest of M4's visualization work:
- widgets are picked by clicking them, with the header as the drag
handle so a slider still slides and a switch still flips while
editing; settings moved into the flows' SidePanel
- react-grid-layout for drag and edge-resize, so the stored x/y finally
mean something; a dashboard nobody arranged is shelf-packed once
- a per-dashboard grid size, so a panel can be matched to its screen
- the chart widget, drawn with uPlot: several messages on one axis, fed
from the stored history plus the live socket tail, coloured from the
new --chart-1..5 ramp
- /view/{name}: the URL a wall panel is pointed at — no sidebar, no
footer, no editing, and no editor code, since routes are split
- a widget wired to a payload type it cannot carry, or wired to nothing
at all, carries the same red dot a failing node does; the picker
records the type it bound and WidgetDef refuses a mismatch on save

Three things they were missing: they could not be dragged out of the lane
they were placed in, they stayed the same weight whether or not you were
reaching for one, and the label sat right against its connector dot.
Where one has been dragged to is a view preference, not part of the flow —
writing a position for a dashboard widget into flow.json would be a lie
about what the document holds — so it lives in the browser, keyed by flow.
Also folds the dashboard shot into `make verify` and drops the one-off
scripts that had accumulated beside it; the durable coverage is the
Playwright specs, which all pass.

The browser half of M3. Flows open on a full-bleed canvas with their chrome
floating over it: flow tabs top, dock bottom, node settings in a panel on the
right that leaves the graph visible and running behind it.
- Connections are derived, not stored. A node declares the messages it reads
and publishes; every matching pair draws an edge, so two producers of one
message converge on their consumer. Dragging output to input is shorthand
for pointing that input at the producer's message, and asks before it
replaces an existing one.
- Values land on the edges as they flow, over a websocket that feeds a store
outside React, so a value arriving re-renders its own chip and nothing else.
Clicking an edge shows the last payload and when it arrived.
- Node source is edited in Monaco, loaded only when a panel opens and themed
from the design tokens.
- Edits autosave; identical documents are skipped server-side, so a quiet
canvas writes nothing.
- Validation from the API shows on the node it belongs to and is summarised in
the dock, where each entry pans to its node.
- Works on a phone: touch-connect, 44px dock targets, and the node panel
becomes a full-screen sheet.
Two new tokens (--status-success, --font-mono) are mirrored in the website repo
and recorded in DESIGN-GUIDELINES.md.

- exclude app/flow from ruff and mypy: it is not importable as a package and
nothing in the API reaches it, so 405 of the 412 findings were about code
scheduled for restructuring (see NOTEPAD.md)
- fix the 7 real findings outside it: col(...) around created_at for the
.desc() ordering, and a type: ignore that is no longer needed
- compose.local.yml resets the host ports compose.dev.yml publishes; the
integrated stack is served entirely through Traefik, and a port already
taken on the host used to fail the whole stack
