stroblmeandClaude Opus 5 ce77262f81 Point the panel link at the installation, not at the browser's origin
Both links out of the dashboard editor were built root-relative, so a portal
serving the app under `/i/{id}` got a URL to itself: the hub has no route
there and answers a bare 404. That is what a device link and "open what a
wall panel sees" both landed on.

They want different answers. The view link is for the person already looking,
so it takes the router's basepath — `appPath` in `lib/portal` is the same
prefix the router applies to every `Link`, for the places that step outside
it. The device link is for a screen, which cannot go through the portal at
all: the shell is served only to a portal session, and the credential that
page carries is the portal's rather than the panel's. So the server now says
where it answers, and `FRONTEND_HOST` is that answer — the same setting the
password-reset links already use.

Also fixes the panel branch in the query error handler, which compared a raw
pathname and so never fired under a portal.

stroblmeandClaude Opus 5 ffae24c16b Panels: per-device dashboard sets, paired by code
A panel is one screen and the ordered set of whole dashboards it shows, so a
hallway tablet and a workshop tablet carry different sets without either
dashboard knowing about the other. More than one and the device draws a rail
to switch between them — the same rail the editor puts on screen, because the
wall has it and it takes room off the canvas.

A screen has no keyboard, so it pairs rather than logs in: it shows a
six-character code, somebody approves it against a panel from the dashboards
overview, and the credential that mints reaches that panel's published
dashboards and the message endpoints its widgets speak, and nothing else.
Deleting the panel revokes it.

Closes the per-device view and the kiosk credential; supersedes the
multi-page/multi-section UI, since a page is now a dashboard of its own.

The "running" tile counted paused and invalid flows as running, so it read
"5/5" beside "1 flow(s) cannot run". Its note is now additive rather than a
precedence chain, so a quarantine no longer hides the invalid count.

Adds dur() beside si(): a ms reading picks its own unit, so a slow run reads
"1.24 s" instead of "1.2k ms".

stroblmeandClaude Opus 5 bb90a24b90 Computed flow layout, and mobile written into the design
The canvas lays itself out: a layered graph, left to right on a desktop and
top to bottom on a phone, with room reserved for the value each edge carries.
Nodes cannot be dragged and `NodeDef.position` is gone from the document —
a graph nobody can arrange is one worth keeping small, which is what keeps
flows atomic. Endpoints join the same layout, so their lanes and the
localStorage that remembered where they were dragged go too.

Mobile, per the new Responsive section of DESIGN-GUIDELINES.md: the dock caps
its width and wraps instead of running off the screen, the dashboard stacks
into one column rather than shrinking a wall panel to a fifth of its size, and
Home stops widening its grid track past the viewport. A Playwright project at
a phone's width fails the build when a screen no longer fits.

Along the way: publish is the checkmark that was already there rather than a
button that appears and disappears, with discard beside it on both the flow
and the dashboard; the brain reveals a neuron's name on the first tap; and the
port sparklines get room to breathe.

stroblmeandClaude Opus 5 a1265450df Health: a flow that cannot run says so, and the brain marks which neurons
A dependency loop is flagged on the canvas and was invisible everywhere else:
/observability/summary answered "ok" with an empty problems list while the
published flow could not run at all. It now reports the flows validation
blocks, and the brain graph carries the reason on each neuron the issue names
so the view built to find broken wiring can show it.

Node errors stay counted once, as the nodes that failed to load, and an
advisory like an unauthenticated webhook marks nothing — it is worth saying,
but the flow still runs.

stroblmeandClaude Opus 5 2554488a73 Backend: real alert test results, state cleanup on delete/rename, node trigger errors, queue and collector fixes
`AlertManager.send` swallowed every delivery failure, so the alerts screen's
Test button answered 200 whatever happened — the one thing it exists for. It
takes `raise_on_error` now, which only the test route passes; the per-channel
loop keeps the swallow, because one dead channel must not stop the others
hearing about the same fault. A refused delivery answers 502 with whatever the
sender said.

Renaming a flow left its values under the old name for good: the delete path
already swept them, the rename path never did. It calls the same `forget_flow`,
which covers the messages and the `__ts__`/`__version__`/`__history__`
bookkeeping keyed by message name. Cleanup, not migration — they repopulate
under the new name on the next run.

Triggering a node by hand ran `Node.__call__` with nothing catching it, so a
node that raised produced a 500 and a stack trace in the server log, and
nothing at all on the canvas. `Pipeline.publish_error` is the reporting half of
`_execute_node` lifted out; both paths go through it, so a manual failure now
reads the same on the canvas and in the metrics as a queued one. The route
answers 400 with the node's error.

`MemoryWorkQueue.stats()` counts claimed-but-unacknowledged work rather than
reporting zero, so the health tile means something without Redis. The metrics
collector's held tracebacks are capped at `DETAIL_CAP` and swept on the same
`RUN_STALE_S` cutoff the open runs use, instead of one untruncated traceback
per node kept for the life of the process — a traceback still survives the
flush between the log and the failure it belongs to.

`GET /observability/events` takes `since`/`until`, the window `/runs` already
took, so a failures list can cover the span the charts beside it are drawn from.

stroblmeandClaude Fable 5 0b91379914 Let a pinned minute read runs from the whole day
/observability/runs gains since/until, so the throughput chart's pin asks
the server for its minute instead of filtering a fixed recent list. This
engine writes ~60 runs a minute, so any minute but the newest read empty.

since is inclusive and until exclusive, matching the minute buckets the
charts are drawn from. Hover stays the client-side preview it was:
scrubbing a day would otherwise be a request per minute rested on.

stroblmeandClaude Fable 5 af3ba51571 Keep the engine's own history, and a screen that reads it
A second bus subscriber folds executions, errors, timings and queue lag
into per-minute rollups, keeps failures with their traceback and an audit
trail of who published what, and records one row per cascade — manual runs
and previews included, under an id of their own that writes no idempotency
markers. Read back through /observability/*, which always answers 200 so a
degraded engine still renders its own health screen.

Also fixes two things found on the way: node-health alerts read `status`
where the engine publishes `health`, so a device dropping never alerted
anyone, and the Redis queue reported `parked: 0` whatever was held.

rootandClaude Fable 5 5462842b8a Supervise the engine's host: deep health, loop watchdog, one worker
The API image ran four uvicorn workers, and each one built a full flow
controller — four sets of MQTT subscriptions, cron ticks and webhooks.
Runs one worker now; scaling out is the worker split, not more processes.

Adds a loop-lag watchdog and a deep /utils/health/ that fails when the
event loop is wedged or Redis is unreachable, the two failure modes a
process-alive check never sees. Autoheal restarts on that signal, behind
a compose profile because it mounts the Docker socket.

The private user-seeding routes now need an explicit opt-in rather than
just ENVIRONMENT=local, so a deployment that kept the default never
exposes them.

The engine now speaks MCP at /mcp, with a built-in OAuth 2.1 authorization
server in front of it: an agent registers itself, sends a human to the browser
to approve it, and exchanges the resulting code for a token. PKCE is required,
codes are single-use and stored only as hashes, the browser is redirected to
the URI that was registered rather than the one asked for, and refresh tokens
rotate so that replaying a spent one revokes the whole line.

Twenty tools cover reading, building, publishing and running flows, and each
one calls the same REST endpoint the dashboard calls, in-process, carrying the
caller's own token. That keeps one description of what a flow is and what may
be done to it — validation, the draft/publish split, the version check — and
means an agent can do nothing a person could not do in the browser.

Agent tokens are RS256 with a keypair of their own rather than the secret that
signs browser sessions, so deleting the key withdraws every agent without
logging anyone out, and deps.decode_token grew the branch that trusting a
second issuer will need when the hosted login arrives.

Melvin StroblandClaude Fable 5 7344eac262 Start, stop and pause flows, and show what their nodes print
Flows can now be taken off the engine and put back. Stopped state lives in a
runtime.json beside the flow, not in the flow document: the canvas autosaves
that document, so a stopped flow would otherwise start itself again on the
next edit. A stopped flow gets no subscriptions, schedules or webhooks, its
nodes are skipped by the scheduler, and running it answers 409. Pausing holds
a flow's nodes while its values keep arriving, so the canvas still shows what
is coming in.

Node code is user code and print is how it says things, so stdout is teed
through a contextvar sink active only during a node execution — one event per
execution, capped, so a chatty node cannot outrun the stream. A node that
fails sends its traceback the same way, trimmed to the author's own frames.
The dock gains a logs panel and a pause control; the dashboard replaces its
placeholder with what is running, stopped or failing; the edge inspector can
send the last message again.

Single-stepping is deferred and noted: the scheduler keeps no progress between
calls, so a step button would re-run the same node rather than advance.

Melvin StroblandClaude Fable 5 606ab3c423 Separate editing from running with a draft/publish split
Edits autosave to flow.draft.json and nodes.draft/ instead of the files the
engine reads, so the pipeline keeps running the published version until
someone publishes. Every save carries the version it was based on: a second
client editing the same flow is refused with 409 and offered the choice
between their version and its own, rather than silently overwriting.

Draft saves no longer rebuild the pipeline; validation and node status for a
draft come from a throwaway build that never touches live state.

Also fixes a latent bug where an empty state backend is falsy, so Pipeline
quietly built itself a second, private state and left message history empty.

Melvin StroblandClaude Fable 5 fd666743d2 Add flow settings, pulse emitting nodes, and simplify node state
- One dot per node now carries the whole story: primary while running, sage
after a good run, red when anything is wrong, with the explanation on hover.
The corner badge is gone, along with the second way of saying the same thing.
- A node that publishes something flashes a ring, so a running flow is legible
without reading the edge values. Nodes that consume but publish nothing stay
quiet, which is why the event carries an output count.
- Flow settings open in the same panel its nodes use, from a pencil in the
dock: the title, the name, and deleting the flow. NodePanel and FlowPanel
share the panel chrome rather than each drawing their own.
- Renaming is a server operation, because a flow's name is the namespace of its
messages: the directory moves and every other flow reading `old.message` is
repointed, instead of being left pointing at a flow that no longer exists.

Melvin StroblandClaude Fable 5 c254d487ba Recover from a dead session, and report a node problem once
An expired or orphaned session left the app on a half-rendered page instead of
the login screen: a properly signed token naming a user who no longer exists
answered 404, which the client does not treat as an authentication failure. All
failures in get_current_user are 401 now, and the client stops retrying them,
so a dead session goes straight back to the login screen.

- Clicking an edge names the two nodes it runs between, not just the message.
- A node with a problem shows one badge carrying the whole explanation, rather
than a corner badge and a status dot saying the same thing twice. The dot is
back to what it is good at: whether the node ran.
- The sidebar's collapse control sits in the sidebar, where a phone still finds
one in the chrome because there is no sidebar on screen to hold it.

Melvin StroblandClaude Fable 5 01af7787c1 Fix the MQTT node, suggest message names, and drop Items
- MQTT nodes failed to build: the topic map was renamed to talk in ports, but
__slots__ still declared the old name, so every MQTT node raised
AttributeError. Building one of each node type is now a test, since __slots__
makes this failure invisible until someone places the node.
- Port names offer the messages already in play: everything published is worth
reading, and an input nobody provides yet is worth publishing. A message only
connects when both ends spell it the same way, so choosing beats typing.
- Adding a port focuses its name field.
- Dragging onto an input that already reads something offers the extra port as
well as the replacement — an MQTT or InfluxDB node usually wants both.
- The template's Item model, its routes, screens and table are gone.

Melvin StroblandClaude Fable 5 06a4506767 Add the flow API: typed messages, git-backed store, REST and live events
Makes the flow engine reachable from the API, which is what M3 needs before
any of it can reach the browser.

- app/flow is a package now; the prototype's watch-dir scripts and the
matplotlib/networkx visualiser are gone with their dependencies.
- Messages carry a serializable dtype instead of a live Python type, and a
port name, so the graph can speak qualified names while node functions keep
local arguments. Redis state is JSON, not pickle.
- Message names are namespaced per flow ("heating.temp"); a bare name resolves
to its own flow, a dotted one crosses flows.
- Several nodes may provide the same message: producers are a list, so fan-in
is a real edge instead of a silently dropped one.
- Flows are stored as flow.json plus node sources in a git repository, one
commit per save, with identical saves skipped so autosave stays quiet.
- Node failures are isolated and reported per node; validate() returns cycles
and unconnected inputs instead of raising deep in a run.
- Credentials live in an encrypted store and are referenced as {"$secret": …}.
- Engine events reach websocket clients through a bus, so values, node status
  and execution show up live.

The submodule collapse was only half applied: .gitmodules was deleted but
backend/ and frontend/ were still recorded as gitlinks, so none of their
files were tracked. Replace the gitlinks with the real trees.

Also untrack .env (it carried placeholder secrets) in favour of a tracked

ignore that would have swallowed design assets.
